Before Waxing Tips:
1. For best results let your hair grow for 3-4 weeks after last shave.
2. It can be helpful to Exfoliate Your Skin before your appointment, use a rough wash cloth or hand mitt/do not use an exfoliating scrub just soap and water )
3. Drink lots of water to keep your skin hydrated and soft. (this is a great lesson for all life!)
4. Use lotion or a lite weight oil daily year round This increases skins hydration; making hair easier to remove. We offer a wonderful after wax product called Velvet Fuzz made with essential oils; this product is a labor of love with both Bare Beauty and the lovely company Delas.
5. If you are nervous or sensitive to pain take ibuprofen or two before your appointment.
6. We will make sure you have the best experience possible, we look forward to meeting you!
AFTER WAXING TIPS:
**If this is your first ever wax, you may notice you still feel a little “stubbly” this is perfectly normal and it can take up 3-5 times of waxing to and get on a schedule… that leads us right into our first tip…
1: Keep on a waxing schedule, our hair grows in about 4-5 week cycle; keeping your waxing a schedule (about every 5 weeks) will allow you time to get used to experience, see the change in the hair growth, and give you best chance for the smoothest wax possible.
2: Exfoliation is a BIG part of your at-home after-care routine! Nothing too rough is needed, just s simple hand mitt or rough washcloth and soap; while you are in the shower lightly scrub waxed areas. This helps sloff of dry and dead skin, keep pores open and remove any build-up on your skin and pores. This should be done 2-3 times a week.
3: Skin Hydration this point was touched on in our before wax tips BUT is so important here is again! Use lotion or a lite weight oil daily (year-round) This increases skins hydration and making hair easier to remove. We offer a wonderful after wax product called Velvet Fuzz made with essential oils; this product is a labor of love from both Bare Beauty and the lovely company Delas.
4. Keep your skin clean, this means making sure to remove sweaty clothes after a workout, taking shower regularly after workouts or hikes, and allowing yourself to wear breathable clothes or sleeping naked at night. Our skin is meant to breathe which means all parts, not just the parts we show to the world. :)
